**Celebrating 10 Remarkable Years of Community Support: The Hub@BA15 Marks Its Milestone**
Nestled in Church Street at the heart of Bradford on Avon, The Hub@BA15 has been a beacon of hope and support for the local community over the past decade. On Friday, March 28th, this charitable organization celebrated its 10th anniversary in a joyful event that embodied the spirit of service and togetherness that has defined its journey since its founding in 2015.
Established by Bradford on Avon Churches Together (BACT), Bradford on Avon Community Area Network (BoACAN), and the Town Council, The Hub@BA15 serves as a lifeline for residents in Bradford on Avon and surrounding areas, including Winsley, Holt, Westwood, Limpley Stoke, South Wraxall, Wingfield, and Staverton. Its services are diverse and impactful, ranging from foodbank support (affiliated with Trussell Trust) and benefits advice to assistance with debt management, job applications, CV creation, and digital access.
The Hub also fosters emotional and social well-being through initiatives such as self-help groups like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Cocaine Anonymous (CA), as well as a grief/kind space run by the Sue Ryder Charity to provide bereavement support. Its meeting room, available for hire, has become a hub (pun intended!) for community groups to gather and grow.
The 10th birthday celebration was a lively affair, with over 50 attendees enjoying live music, homemade cakes, coffee, laughter, and great company. Laurie Brown, one of the founding members and the original Chair of Trustees, delivered a heartfelt speech alongside Brian Mathew MP and Jack Vittles, Mayor of Bradford on Avon.
Cathy Hearn, the Hub Manager, expressed her gratitude, saying, “It was a fabulous occasion. The Hub had a lovely atmosphere, and it was wonderful to have many of the original trustees with us. We were thrilled that so many people were able to celebrate with us. We really appreciate the incredible support that we receive from our amazing town. We simply couldn’t do what we do without the support of our local community and our superb committed volunteers.”
Looking ahead, The Hub@BA15 continues its mission to relieve poverty and promote health, well-being, and purpose among residents. For those interested in connecting with this vibrant community, monthly coffee mornings are held on the second Friday of each month, and agency drop-in sessions take place on the last Wednesday of the month. The next drop-in, hosted by Wessex Water, is scheduled for April 30th.
As the Hub celebrates this milestone, its story serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together to lift each other up. Here’s to the next 10 years of The Hub@BA15’s unwavering service and impact!
